Helena’s Restaurant aims to serve heritage food with finesse, often with a subtle twist in the detail – turning the familiar into the spectacular. The menu is designed to reflect the bounty of the Cape, with specific emphasis on freshness and food provenance. At Helena’s, good unpretentious food and special wine add to the pleasures of life.

WHERE THE FAMILIAR IS MADE SPECTACULAR

Helena’s Restaurant is located in two adjoining dining areas within Coopmanhuijs. The first area, beneath an antique yellow-wood ceiling, is appointed with richly embossed French wallpaper. Lighted trees – intricately made of wire – adorn an entire wall. In the second dining area, hand-hewn poplar dining chairs are set beneath the glass roof of a charming conservatoire, which opens onto the enclosed courtyard and swimming-pool.

Although we afford preference to Hotel guests, we welcome reservations and walk-ins from outside patrons – subject to availability. Thank you for considering Helena’s. We are open seven days a week. Please note you are welcome to bring your own wine, we charge a corkage fee of R80 per bottle.

Great hotel with friendly attentive staff.The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel has great amenities in a central location close to bars, cafes & restaurants. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Pleasurable experience

Just returned from a vacation in The South of France and the UK.I found the hotel in service and Accommodation was better than any where I stayed in Europe. From location to finishing off the evening in the bar drinking a 21 year old Jonny Walker gold . Who could wish for more!!!!

Weekend in Stellenbosch

We had a most delightful weekend at Coopmanhuijs in Stellenbosch. We were there for a wedding and to go to a special restaurant for dinner one night but the highlight turned out to be the absolutely fantastic hotel where we stayed.

Absolutely brilliant hotel

I could find no fault with this very upmarket hotel. From the well adorned rooms, comfortable beds, heated bathroom floor, minibar, personal espresso machine etc. to the amazing dining experience at Helena’s – absolutely brilliant. The staff are amazingly friendly and helpful and their attention to detail leaves you wanting for nothing!!
